Shea Moisture - Beauty Liberation
(PROJECT DESCRIPTION)
Beauty Liberation - SheaMoisture Music Video For the SheaMoisture project, I art directed a music video that was all about showing people they're beautiful just as they are. The video pushed back against social media's toxic beauty standards, creating a visual story of self-acceptance. I wanted to show how people can break free from what the world tells them is beautiful. The visual approach was bold - we started in clean, almost digital-looking spaces that felt sterile and controlled, which represented how society tries to define beauty. Then we transitioned into warm, natural environments that showed what real beauty looks like: confidence, diversity, and being true to yourself. During the shoot, I was hands-on with every creative decision. We chose wardrobe that celebrated natural hair and skin, used lighting that made everyone look incredible, and captured performances that felt real and powerful. The camera work was up close and personal, letting our performers tell their stories of self-love directly to the audience. It wasn't just a music video - it was a statement about embracing who you are.
